An interesting fact for whisky enthusiasts: Glen Ord has a special connection with Southeast Asia, where its Singleton expressions have long been popular. A visit offers more than a glimpse into whisky production. Step into the world of traditional distilling, discover how time, oak casks and craftsmanship influence the spirit, and explore the flavours that give this Highland single malt its character. Whether you're a seasoned whisky enthusiast or curious to learn what makes a great dram, Glen Ord is an excellent opportunity to experience the living heritage of Highland whisky-making.

    Glenmorangie Distillery

    1 hour

Welcome to Glenmorangie, the celebrated Highland distillery whose name means “Valley of Tranquillity.” Crafted from curiosity since 1843, Glenmorangie is renowned for its exceptionally tall copper stills, among Scotland's tallest, which help create its distinctive, delicate and fruity spirit. From the much-loved Original to the elegant 18-year-old and prestigious 25-year-old expressions, its collection offers something for different palates. Glenmorangie is also known for its creativity with oak casks, experimenting with different wood types and cask finishes to develop distinctive flavours and aromas. Alongside its core range, you'll find limited releases, special editions and richly matured bottlings showcasing the distillery's adventurous approach to whisky-making. Optional tastings are available for an additional fee, offering a chance to discover the character and craftsmanship behind this iconic Highland name.

  5. 5

    Balblair Distillery

    50 min

Step into the world of Balblair, one of Scotland's oldest working distilleries, where the art of single malt whisky-making dates back to 1790. Nestled in the beautiful Highland landscape near the Dornoch Firth, Balblair follows a patient, hands-on approach, allowing time and craftsmanship to shape the character of every dram. Rather than rushing the process, the distillery focuses on carefully managed maturation and the influence of oak casks to develop its distinctive flavours and aromas. Balblair is particularly admired for its elegant, fruity character, often revealing notes of orchard fruits, citrus and warming spice. Its long history and commitment to traditional whisky-making make it a rewarding stop for those who appreciate the finer details behind Scotland's national drink. If you're curious about how time, wood and Highland heritage come together in a single malt, Balblair offers a fascinating glimpse into this enduring craft.

  6. 6

    Beauly

    1.7 hours

Beauly is a charming Highland village and a lovely destination for a relaxed lunch surrounded by history and beautiful countryside. It's also home to our beloved Robertson's Farm, where you can meet adorable Highland coos (cattle) and alpacas, browse organic produce and discover unique souvenirs to take home. It's a wonderful opportunity to enjoy a taste of authentic Highland life! The village's name comes from the French beau lieu, (beautiful place) a fitting description of this picturesque corner of Fraser clan country. Past the atmospheric ruins is the Beauly Priory, founded in the 13th century by French monks. It holds centuries of history and connections to the powerful Lovat Fraser family. Outlander fans may also recognise Beauly as a location associated with Jamie Fraser's fictional ancestry. With welcoming cafés, independent shops and fascinating heritage, Beauly is an ideal place to enjoy lunch, meet local farm animals and experience the charm of the Scottish Highlands.
