Itinerary

  1. 1

    Mercado Central

    1 hour

Here you find some of Quito’s most traditional (and cheapest) foods, in the Mercado Central, where you find fruits and veggies, meats, fresh fish, flowers and natural products are available too. Discover the history, culture, and traditions of Quito in a half-day tour.

  2. 2

    Calle La Ronda

    1 hour

This is a narrow cobblestone street very famous among locals because it appears in many paintings and it was the cradle of several famous poems and songs. The street has recuperated its splendor and it is very popular for local people who come on Friday and Saturday nights for drinking a traditional hot "canelazo" made of cinnamon with a liquor!

  3. 3

Plaza de la Independencia (Plaza Grande)

    30 min

Located in the heart of Quito’s historic district, Independence Square has as its main feature a monument honoring those who first called for independence from the Royal Audience of Quito in August 1809.

  4. 4

Iglesia y Convento de San Francisco

    30 min

One of the most iconic destinations in Quito’s historic center is the Plaza San Francisco. With its dramatic backdrop of the colonial, whitewashed San Francisco Church against the dark green Pichincha Volcano, it is probably one of the most photographed plazas in the entire capital city
