Overview
Taste the Highlands food & drink tour is about more than what’s on your plate. It’s a chance to discover Inverness through its people, history and traditions, and you’ll hear the stories behind the produce you taste and venues you visit. There’s no hurry; this is a relaxed walking tour designed for conversation, curiosity and enjoyment. With a small group of no more than 12 guests, there’s plenty of time to ask questions, soak up the atmosphere and enjoy each stop without feeling rushed. Every stop has been carefully chosen to showcase the very best local produce. By joining Taste the Highlands, you’ll support independent businesses in Inverness (and the producers who supply them), as well as a local, female-owned tour company dedicated to sharing the city’s food, history and hospitality with visitors. Whether it’s your first visit to Scotland or you’re looking to experience the city from a different perspective, come hungry and ready to discover Inverness one bite at a time.

Itinerary
3 hours - 5 venues - 18 food & drink tastings - 1 passionate local guide Discover Inverness one bite at a time. Take a relaxing stroll around the historic city centre, visit carefully selected independent eateries, taste iconic Scottish food and drinks, exceptional local produce, learn some local history and let me show you why I love being able to call this beautiful city ‘home’. A taste of what's to come: - Dive straight into Scottish savoury pie culture at a family-run bakery that’s been feeding locals for generations. - Visit the Victorian Market’s Food & Drink Hall to savour Scottish seafood and sample a well-known Highland “pudding”. - Travel from the coast to the land at a local organic craft brewery, where you’ll enjoy craft beer and pizza made with produce grown at the brewery farm and market garden. - Taste the produce of some of the fantastic local artisanal producers who call Inverness and the Highlands home, including local cheeses, cured meats and salmon. - Our time together culminates with two iconic Scottish dishes and a wee dram of something special before you say ‘haste ye back’.
