Full-Day Historical Park and Countryside Tour in Sukhothai

This cycling tour starts at 08:00 till 15:00. This lovely tour along little canals that zigzag and swing passing small authentic communities and rice paddies, has the ancient capital as final destination. Hear the greetings of the locals see how important those canals are for them [farming, bathing, laundry, fishing for dinner] Lots to see and learn along the traffic free roads about local life, local industry and handcrafts, farming…and get an easy but interesting impression by the guide on architecture, history and Buddhism.    Sukhothai Historical Park

   4 hours

   On the way to the Historical park, this tour will take you to cycle pass local villages, rice fields, market you can learn about village life, farming and agriculture products.

   Stop 2

   15 min

   Is the biggest temple comlpex of the Southern part of the historical park. Located in the countryside, surrounded by rice paddies. This temple has remains of Buddha statues in different positions. Our English speaking tourguide will show you around with explanations of the site.

   Stop 3

   20 min

   Is an ancient dam that dates back to the Sukhothai era and is surrounded by the mountains. The dam provided water for the city and surrounding rice fields. Time to enjoy the view and take pictures.

   15 min

   Is a temple complex with a chedi ( tower) in Sri Lanka style. Parts are over grown by strangler fig trees and is a nice place for a picture.

   This little temple complex is a charming place as it is located in a mango forest. ''Mamuang'' is Thai for mango. Our guide shows you around with explanations.

   Wat Sri Chum

   20 min

   Located in the North of the historical park. Inside the ''monthop'' ( Bhudda house) is a gigantic and impressive Bhuddha statue in subduing Mara position. Our tour guide leads you through this beautiful complex with explanations.

   30 min

   Meaning ''THe temple of the great relics'' is the most famous and impressive temple complex of Sukhothais ancient capital. All different architectural styles are mixed in this temple located in the heart of the historical park. Our tour guide will show you around with explanations.

   Wat Sri Sawai

   20 min

   A Khmer style temple. Existing out of a prayer hall and three ''Prangs'' ( towers) in Khmer style surrounded by a brick wall and a moat. Our guide shows you around with explanations.
