The villages of the Cinque Terre, perched on rocky cliffs along the coast of Liguria, will leave you speachless! Between two steep cliffs stands Riomaggiore, is a peaceful village where still today the work of fishermen daily continues. Ancient Manarola is significant because of its architectural and cultural landmarks. The tiny Corniglia is a precious village built on the cliff face and surrounded by vineyards. Vernazza is a colourful village sit among watercourses and verdant rocks. This tour is part by vehicle and part by train.

Itinerary

  1. 1

    Manarola

    1 hour

The second town you will see is Manarola, a little urban pearl identified by typical Genoese style ‘case-torri’.

  2. 2

    Corniglia

    1 hour

Corniglia is the smallest village of Cinque Terre. It is set on a cliff 100 meters above sea level, and the railway station is located in the lower part of the village. The tiny town, then, can be reached on foot by climbing the staircase ( about 380 steps) or with the bus that leaves every 10 minutes after arrival of the train.

  3. 3

    Vernazza

    1.5 hours

It is the most beautiful village of Cinque Terre, small and very picturesque. Thanks to an ideal climate, plenty of sunshine and little wind there are many olive groves and vineyards.

  4. 4

    Riomaggiore

    1 hour

is the last village you will see, on your way back to Florence ( even it would be the first coming from La Spezia!). It is divided into three separate parts: the station, where the trails towards Manarola depart; the center of the village, where the trails to the Church of Montenero and Portovenere begin and the fishermen’s district.

  5. 5

    Castello di Riomaggiore

    20 min

The semi-destroyed walls of the fortress and the two towers are the only things that remain of the castle of Riomaggiore. These defensive structures were built high up, so a stretch of the Blue trail and the shoreline of Riomaggiore can be seen from the terrace of the castle: take a photo and impress this enchanting moment!
