It stands on the extremity of the peninsula of Lavedo, a suggestive promontory covered with vegetation that juts into the waters of Lake Como and that owes the name of “Balbianello” to this villa.

   Villa Carlotta, a historic residence on Lake Como, was built in the seventeenth century by Marquis Giorgio Clerici. Having become the property of illustrious figures such as Sommariva and Princess Marianna of Prussia, it is named after her daughter Charlotte. Today it is a famous museum with botanical gardens and works of art that tell centuries of beauty and culture.
