Overview
From the moment you step off your ship in Costa Maya, everything is taken care of — round-trip transportation, a local guide who knows the stories and legends of Pirate’s Channel, and plenty of time to enjoy Bacalar without worrying about missing your “All Aboard.” Along the way, stop in Pedro Santos, a small Mayan community known for its sweet honey pineapples, before arriving at Bacalar’s famous Seven Colors Lagoon. Cruise across shades of turquoise and blue, swim in the lagoon’s clear waters and cenotes, then climb back aboard for fresh fruit, snacks, cold beer, shots and drinks from the open bar. Afterward, enjoy a traditional Mexican lunch at a local restaurant, where regional flavors bring Costa Maya’s culture to life. Pedro Antonio Santos
30 min
Your adventure begins 1 hour after your cruise ship docks in Costa Maya. Meet your guide just outside the port’s main entrance, where they’ll be waiting beside a welcome board. From there, take a short walk to the nearby meeting point and begin your journey toward Bacalar. Along the way, make a brief stop in Pedro Santos, a small Mayan community surrounded by the tropical countryside of southern Quintana Roo. Known locally for its sweet honey pineapples, this is a chance to learn about one of the fruits grown in the region and get a glimpse of everyday local life beyond the cruise port. Then continue through the Yucatán countryside toward Bacalar and its famous Seven Colors Lagoon.

Lake Bacalar
5 hours
Arrive at Bacalar’s famous Seven Colors Lagoon and step aboard your pontoon boat for approximately 2 hours on the water. Cruise across changing shades of turquoise and blue as you make your way through the lagoon and into Pirate’s Channel, a historic passage once traveled by pirates through the region. Stop along the way to swim in Bacalar’s clear waters and cenotes, then climb back aboard and enjoy fresh fruit, snacks, cold beer, shots and drinks from the open bar as you continue exploring the lagoon. After your time on the water, head to a local Mexican restaurant for an included lunch and enjoy authentic regional flavors before settling in for the ride back to Costa Maya and your cruise ship.
