An incredibly impressive structure, in entering you will pass under the enormous monolithic entrance stone weighs around 120 tons. See if you can guess how the stones were made, from where they came from, and how they were constructed some 3000 years ago!

Passing through the 20-meter wide city walls, entering through the gigantic lion's gate and exploring Agamemnon’s throne room and associated Toombs of the site with their huge construction is an amazing experience. Excavations of its various Toombs to date have uncovered over 15Kg of gold and other famous & priceless treasures, many of which you will see in its modern on-site museum including Agamemnon's death mask.

The Museum is locaed within the main Archaeological site and we recommend visiting this first before exploring the main site because it provides very nice background information as well as many unique exhibits which help bring the life & times of the Ancient Mycenean's to life.
