Are you curious to go further into the rainforest of Gunung Leuser National Park and to experience one night in our camp under an impressive leaf roof of the jungle giants? On our 2-day rainforest discovering trek you can observe wild Orangutans, gibbons, up to 4 different monkey species, turtles, peacocks, lizards and a lot more incredible wildlife! Enjoy a traditional Indonesian dinner and a night full of interesting talks and playing games, while you are surrounded by the wonderful jungle sounds. Meeting and pickup
This is our own accommodation in Bukit Lawang. Our team prepares and starts the treks from here. If you stay with us, you will meet your guide in the restaurant. If you stay at another hotel, you are welcome to come to our place, but of course we can also come and pick you up at your place!
If you stay in the Ecolodge or would like to come there on your own before the trek, please wait at the reception. Your guide will be there at 9 am, wearing a T-shirt with our Logo, trekking clothes and black rubber shoes, so you can easily recognize him.
On request we are happy to arrange a pick up at Medan Airport or any other places in North Sumatra for you (please get in touch for more details). One day before the trek, your jungle guide will meet you at your guesthouse to get to know you and give you a short introduction about the tour. The next morning you will meet your guide about 15 minutes before you start the trek into the rainforest. If you stay at the Ecolodge or at a hotel nearby, the entrance to Gunung Leuser National Park is just a few minutes walk away. In case your accommodation is located outside of Bukit Lawang in the rural area, your guide will pick you up by motorbike or tuktuk, so you can start trekking in Bukit Lawang at 9 am. Tipp: We recommend using mosquito repellent before we start our trek into the rainforest.
